Young Adults in America
Following college graduation or completion of a promising vocational certificate or professional licensing program, new workers need to prepare an effective resume and decide where they want to build a long-term career.
In addition to the Top 25 Cities in America for Business and Jobs, there are also 10 major US Cities that are particularly accommodating to young professionals, including higher wages, lower cost of living, good entertainment and sports activities, and other dimensions they seek.
These professionals include new college graduates and those that have 10 or fewer years competed in their lifelong careers. They would be the group that regularly joins the Junior Chamber of Commerce in their cities. Information about this list has been compiled by Kipplinger Magazine, US News and World Reports, Forbes Magazine, AT&T, and other entities over the last several decades with the following results.
The top 10 cities on the list include large cities where successful graduates of the best American universities settle by the end of their first decade of employment. These universities are institutions that attract the highest enrollments and graduate the largest proportion of students, especially in nationally recognized programs; and place the largest numbers of new professionals successfully into the world of work.
The 10 cities, on average, pay young adults higher salaries than the rest of America pays. They are cities in which the most opportunities exist for new business ventures and expansions exist. They also are home to large numbers and proportions of young, single individuals.

Hot Desking is very interesting; it's a lot like the old job sharing of the 1970s and 1980s, as portrayed in the Dolly Parton - Jane Fonda movie 9 to 5 of that era.
Desks within a corporation are shared by several individuals that use them at different times during a 24-hour period, becaase they work different shifts, telecomute for part of their day, and/or work in the field with customers for portions of each work day. They do not need a desk for a full 8-hour work shift. There is also a 21st century trend toward more flexible work hours, but with employees on call 7 days a week, and this makes a hot desk useful.
Healthcare, Social Services types of positions (especially dealing the aged and their famiies) and Information Technology jobs will provide the most job opportunities in the 21st century. Green engineering will increase continually throughout the century and provide stable business and job markets.

Big corporate world is getting less and less popular, because we mean just a number in a big corporation, which/who needs to make big profit for the company, otherwise is indifferently sacked overnight. I prefer smaller groups or even own private business.

I love that New York and San Francisco are the top two because those are the two cities I'm looking at relocating to. Although I love NY, my husband does not. SF is looking good because I'm from California, and most of my family is there.
I had friends that moved to San Francisco about 7 years ago and have loved it ever since. Much success with your move! I love Seattle, never been to Oregon, but am determined to get to California one of these days.

IT is really the top job in the US, but most company do outsource programmers and other web development projects because it is cost-effective.

Isn't it interesting that on your list of the top 10 job they are mostly health care? And for many of those there is little money to even pay people for good, quality care, such as social services and elder care (even day care). It's ironic that people fight having a national health care plan yet that is the fasted growing and most needed market. If all of these professionals are going in it then who is going to be their clientele. For these careers to succeed the public must have access. Instead, many of them are first on the chopping block for layoffs and budget cuts. The US is so darn backwards in the way they do some things.
