914,5,6 Million Jobs

Some jobs are not advertised at all on the Internet, and other, Hidden Job Markets, within certain groups of companies are harder to uncover. Over 6 Million jobs are often available in America and are projected to increase through 2016.
For information on the leading industries hiring from 2009 - 2012, see the article at What Industries are Hiring the Most Workers?
Jobs listings rose to July '08 with travel and vacations increasing, then fell after the 2008 Christmas and Holiday Season. However, job listings increased to February '09 and leveled out, but continued to fluctuate around that level, Increasing again for 6 months in 2010. Some states continued to experience increases in job listings in certain cites and regions. Texas is a good example of such economic health. Job listings increased by 200,000 across the Interent just from March to mid-July 2011, and this was after the usual summer jobs were filled..

Four Industry Sectors Contain the Most Jobs
The most jobs listings are in categories that involves SALES. The second greatest number of job openings are listed in Healthcare, with the third highest being in Management of some sort, whether Retail, Food Service, or some other industry. The last entry is a single listing category for tax preparation that would include Accounting Professions. Forensic Accounting is becoming a growing industry sector in the 21st Century in light of several financial scandals in the nation and the need to better control finances and eliminate waste..
In 2009, an increase in tax preparation services occurred, because of such events and problematic or overwhelming situations as 1) amended tax returns for larger deductions and refunds, 2) catch-up of un-filed tax returns, and 3) tax audits and related matters.

Why Projections Change
Employment trends and actual job listings differ by state and by metropolitan area within the US States.
Federal projections for future jobs are produced by government statisticians and analysts for a decade at a time, such as 2004 - 2014 and 2006 - 2016 and there is some time overlap as well as differences in job projections that arise with the emergence of new industries and new occupations. Some jobs essentially go out of existence and new jobs are offered as technologies advance.
Overlapping decades provides a background for adjusting trends to other important factors that may include increasing or decreasing populations and other elements. The Recession 2008 - 2009 had some affects upon job listing trends, as did the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding. Employment trends can change rapidly and it is wise to read business and employment projection news.
The State of Texas experienced a small increase in Unemployment rate overall in June, 2009, but several cities remained at around only 5-6% while the nation topped over 10% unemployment during the same time. See a market-by-market review at Texas Job Markets.

I have to admit the beauty jobs on the list threw me off. I was expecting the medical and technical jobs but not the beauty.
Wow thanks a lot! Very useful information there, and a very worked on hub indeed!
Indeed, I expected Computer Software Engineers to be higher than 4th on the projections, because of the importance computers will have on the near future, but anyways, 4th is still a good position for that...
Hi, I got interesting data from your Hub.
Thank you!!
Very good information.
Thanks.
good job,I can choose job in the nature because your hub.
This hub is an eye opener for the growing adults.
It confirms the importance of improved lifestyle, nutritious food and regular exercise. Physical exercises are a part of Natural healing. It can keep everybody fit. Top priority to Physical Therapist confirms increased physical ailments like Cervical, joint pains & back pain and other related ailments.
Useful ideas on your Hub!!
Thanks.
I got useful information from your hub!!!
Well done, well researched and well informed. I like it!
hopefully engineering is one of those
Very informative, well written.
Great hub, and some useful information provided. Thanks for sharing
Healthcare is huge right now. I just interviewed for several different companies that are in the healthcare business and they always say how much they are growing. It's great. Very good info here.
Wonderful information. Will be sure to share with my brother.
Very interesting hub.
I'm so glad I managed to get a job for now, and I only hope that I can either keep this job or find a better one next year. As such, I think this is a very useful hub. Thanks!
Hey - Great hub, very informative, a good read :-)
My daughter started college this month and it is good to see that her career path is on here.
Almost 7 million jobs have been lost since the recession started in 2007.
+Americans' purchasing power has been battered by the 6.7 million jobs that have vanished since the recession began in December 2007." - Associated Press August 28, 2009
Great Job! I enjoyed this hub. Very informative, very relavent to our economic state!
Thanks for this hub!
thank you so much
Interesting! But seriously...Avon?
Cool hub. I don't know if we got the bid for the 2016 Olymics in Chicago but I hope we got/get it. Illinois is in such a terrible way because our former governer was a theif and overspender. 60 million dollars, or something, to put his nameplates over the toll roads. Anyway, I hope to see a great deal of jobs to greet the influx of tourists. Yey! Maybe Illinois can get out of this debt hole with the tax money too! With more people working, more taxes are being paid rather than food stamps given out. Awesome.
Very informative Patty! Thanks for such a well thought out hub. I've been thinking of going back to college, now I have more of an idea on which way to go. Thanks!
Hey I don't see "Internet Blogger" on that list.
It's interesting that a lot of the high demand jobs of the future are those that require an actual physical presence. Like I was told, if your work can be packaged up and be transmitted over a wire...be afraid...be very afraid.... Very informative and useful hub, thanks.
Nice hub. Very well written, cheers. =)
Well done. This type of information serves to ward off the utter despair that sometimes comes from job hunting, unsuccessfully. One thing is for sure, after reading this type of content, you know which direction to head in if you're thinking about additional career training. Thanks again.
very nice article try to best
Good hub. It is very informative and good to read as well.
Great Hub!!
Thanks..
This article is quite good quality, good acquaintances with you patty..
I think these holds good to India as well and all the other countries too.
Hi Patty, thanks for your info for such a great analysis....i think health care might be the hottest industry for this new century and it seems to be growing in the next 5 or 10 years time..
good for me, I'm going to school for psychology. The average person unfortunately will not understand the rest of this text unless they also have a degree in psychology. To do the love of some of them is not the love of all of them. Fraud or skinner(b the be for them) if that is for them. Humanistic vs behaviorist (s of d) very informative! sight!
in seven years i can finally get a real job.
Excellent Hub. This info is very insightful and useful for anyone (high school & beyond).
Nearly 2.8 Million Jobs Available
Great Job, Gentleman!
Good post. A lot of info there
I saw
6. AVON Independent Sales Representatives
And I thought, "hey, I didn't expect to see that there", but then it's obvious. These aren't jobs, they are opportunities for people to start their own business and so recruitment to these will have escalated over the last 18 months. They're advertising anywhere and everywhere they can because more people are prepared to give it a go, so it makes sense that any company like this is advertising more in a downturn.
It's not a "job" job, so shouldn't really show up imho.
The Tax professionals/tax preparers one interested me, but now that I think about it, I can see how that would be a very necessary part of the economy.
1) All of the lost jobs & income & the government is going to have no choice but to start auditing more because of their lost revenues via less taxes.
2) Because of #1 - people should make a point of being VERY careful about their taxes & make sure they do them the right way.
You went above and beyond with this list. Great stuff you have here....
Great post Patty! This is a very good outlook on what might be a good choice in careers or for study purposes.
Its quite interesting to see Software Application Engineers are still in the top notch positions...
Nice info.Nice to see you here.
Great hub. Thank you for this informative Hub.
excellent insights.great work.thanks.
Great hub, I just recently heard that most surgeons are getting paycuts, docters arn't what they used to be.
great hubs patty its very helpful
I'm surprised nothing was listed in terms of computer network administrators . . . maybe I missed it. Nice comprehensive list.
I was surprised to see Assistant Managers listed in the top 15. With the retail markets seeing little growth compared to projected revenue sales and last year figures.
Patty a great resources from your side for the jobs seekers in this particular country. Nice hub.
These reports are great I need to plan for my future and some sort of direction is good. Thanks for the info.
nothing there for aviation , hope I'm not getting into the wrong field. Almost 100k for my schoool, better be able to get a job afterward.
It seems funny that there are so many jobs advertising on the web, yet our unemployment rate is so high. It almost seems like the employers are taking their own sweet time to find the best people they can find. Thanks.
Its a very useful site
It's always good to know what the trends will be in order to prepare future personal decisions. The information you have given us is valuable! Thanks.
All of this is very interesting, for sure. I'm passing it along to my confused nieces abd nephews!
great job , good sharing about jobs.
Nice list, That can be give a direction to youngster so they can see the demand here and can follow that path,To get a good high paying job early. Good Hub :)
Nice to know HHA's are on the list, I am one and also a CNA (certified nurse assistant).
Your article was a very good marketing analysis of job prospecting. The key is going to be college degree, or advance training with some kind of certification. Teaching will always be a good field to go into. Medical profession is growing because people will always be ill with some kind of disease.
Excellent article! It's good to finally see lists that include all education levels.
That's interesting, I wanted to be a physical therapist for a long time before I switched up my major freshman year.
gud info ...
I wasn't aware of these facts. Thanks for this informative article. I think this article is going to help million of people.
Patty, your articles on the job market are extremely comprehensive and valuable for folks in the job market. Thanks for continuing to update this hubpage with recent articles. I imagine your projections about the job market through 2016 could be especially valuable for students who are currently choosing their major.
Hey Patty, Thanks for the informative hubpage. I would like working for you I think. Are you hiring?
I am very talented and very diverse. Do you offer a relocation package and hiring bonus?
I can start today! Very nice informational hub! Enjoyed looking it over.
where is all the construction work?
If it wasn't for construction workers and truck drivers
no one would have a place to work at!
you are really a business expert
Great hub I would add affiliate marketing to that list for people like myself who want to work for themselves.
kool
Interesting information. I look forward to seeing how this projection plays out in the future.
Real estate is a great career with incredible opportunities. The average Realtor is 53 years old and does not connect with the average home buyer who is 31. It is a wide open markert in the new real estate economy.
Very informative. There are some things we just cannot live without, hence the job market in the medical and public services areas.
Great hub with alot of good information on it. People have top look at future proofing themselves and some of the industries and services we have now will not be needed in the future I am sure. The good thing is there will be new things coming into the job markets all the time you just have to look to see the trends change.
As the workforce is laid off, there has to be a point when the flow slows down, but it doesn't mean that things are getting better, does it?
You don't mention Cleveland, but we are seeing hiring here in the nursing and physical therapy field too with so many medical facilities here. Medical seems to be the one general field that is growing here right now. Really thorough info. :)
The medical field is experiencing a bubble right now. 8 out of the top 10 jobs are medical. This is bound to crash. Govt healthcare reform will probably be the cause. It seems however, that sales jobs will always be needed. In the end, a company/person has to sell something to generate revenue.
Thanks for the information. I feel people should not be afraid to make a career shift if they are not happy or if their present job does not meet financial needs. It may take going back to school, but it may be well worth it.
Their are always lottsa oppurtuneties you just need to look around .and most of all having faith n determination what you are doing.
Great article, I wonder when we will see the 'work at home' revolution, I live in Australia, we have been relatively shielded with unemployment at 5%. However studies are showing that peoples perceptions have changed, after tightening our belkts and even having reduced working hours many people are prefering to sacrifice career over lifestyle. It is a really very very nice article. Texas Jobs Aplication Apply For Jobs Online Submit Resume http://newsnidea.com/32221/texas-jobs-aplication-a
hmm, nice and informative, keep it up dear.
stay n tch
What I'm worried about is the role of financial professionals (portfolio managers, stock traders, etc.) and the demand for them right now and in the future. Like a lot of opportunistic people, I chose to major in finance at university right now because of the changing economic conditions. What do you think of the outlook for people such as myself?
These are great data, btw. Very helpful :)
Quite analytical, there is always high demand for nurses any time any day, I feel like changing my career ... lol
is there a demand job for any green related jobs?
Thanks so much...physical therapy is a great occupation and it really helps people in a very great way...
I did not really expect PT to be on the top of the list but it's good that a couple of the healthcare related professions are getting on the top list again.
so?? IT is indemand.. but in the field of data communication analyst.. thanks for the information.. because i need to know what's will i concentrate in the field og IT
very nice info.i got a lot of ideas
Are Surgical Techs and Lab Techs in high demand? I am looking into these.

Pizza Hut shift managers? Is it just a flourishing franchise?
This is really useful information. I am currently taking some classes to go into sales.
Great ideas. I hope the economy really recovers.
I never see hospitality sales or catering jobs. All hotels have 1-10 or more sales and catering professionals. Check out available jobs at hcareers.com Hotel sales people sell guest room blocks and meeting and banquet space to event planners and travel managers. I work at Hilton and enjoy it a lot. You can start with an online certificate at ecornell.com or aprinda.com
impressive list of possible jobs. i've been looking for a job as a park ranger, but didn't see that in this list.
Its is good to see occupational therapy (OT) has made it into the list as well. We do provide essential health care services to a wide population of people and diagnosis; we get them back to doing what they love to do!!!
its good that my course now is PT its in demand !
Very interesting. I am an office service clerk in Houston, TX for a wealth management co. and freelance writer. Do you know of good links as I plan to relocate sometime in the future.
