One of the members of the Hubpages community, > Army Infantry Mom <, asked the question, Where's the best places to move in Tennessee?

I've been looking at maps of Tennessee and remembering some awesome vacations and conferences in that state from years past. I remember meeting cordial, helpful, and interesting people all through Tennessee, even in the grocery stores. Everyone was friendly and the visitors' attractions were worth seeing.

US Federal Department of Labor estimates of job growth for the decade 2004 - 2014 are located at Top 10 Jobs in Tennessee. New projections are prepared in decade length blocks every two years, but they sometimes appear early. For instance, the 2006 - 2016 estimates are shown below, while some US States were already releasing 2008 - 2016 estimates.

One-year estimates are also sometimes available. In 2008 - 2009 in Tennesee, the following jobs were estimated to grow more quickly in numbers than others:

  1. Social Services,
  2. Network Systems,
  3. Home Health Aides (HHAs),
  4. Self-Enrichment Instructors (adult education and others),
  5. Graduate Assistants -teaching and research designations, and
  6. Chemistry Teachers.

These short-tem projections seem not to have been met. The largest numbers of related job openings occurred in other careers (see below). Notably, each labor market area in the state seems to have many healthcare-related job openings.

The State of Tennessee gained several benefits from the ARRA for 2009 - 2012. These benefits included funds with which to extend its displaced workers' Unemployment Insurance Benefits, new Summer Youth Jobs, job-matching via county employment entities for job- seekers, and a number of supportive services for dislocated and older workers, as well as othe rspecial projects and programs.

CONSTRUCTION JOBS

Most of these jobs involve infrastructure building and revitalization as they cluster in the following cities, in order of decreasing ARRA funding and market demand:

  • Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Spring City, Oak Ridge, Clarksville, and Jackson
