Lubbock is located in Lubbock County, Texas, in the Southern Plains Region just south of the Texas Panhandle.

The interesting thing about projections in the Farmer and Farm Laborer category and Farmer and Rancher designation is the research and development currently undertaken in cotton breeding by at least one pharmaceutical company (Bayer Healthcare in US and Bayer CropScience or BSC headquartered in Germany).
