well researched. Anyone interested in Florida history would do well to read "A Land Remembered". The author, Patrick Smith is a resident of Central Florida.

Peaceful and prosperous, that's a good way to describe Vero Beach. I don't know why the Yankees left for Tampa a few years ago (spring training site). You did a good job on this one, Patty. Imagine this, a prehistoric 15-inch ice age bone found there...this will put to rest the climate change talkers who somehow feel they invented or discovered the fact that the earth warms and it cools and nothing we are seeing today wasn't present before. I've always been intrigued with Vero Beach. With real estate prices dropping it may be a viable alternative...my only concern is house insurance, any experience with that?

I don't know the house insurance rates in Vero Beach. If you call your own insurance company, they probably can give you a range of rates in that area.
