What Is this Nugget Game All About?
- HubNuggets How-To, Q and A, FAQ
Have you always wondered what a HubNugget is and how to get in on the HubNugget action? Well, wonder no more! All you have to do is read this hub and all will be revealed.
Is It Bigger Than a Breadbox?
The Name of the Game
Popular game shows caught the attention of the HubNuggets Team during the holidays. I think some members of the Team may be old enough to remember Want’s My Line, You Bet Your Life, or The $64,000 Question -- Wait, what’s that you say?-- "No one’s that old?"
Well, some Team members can probably recognize the reruns on Retro TV or the History Channel, including a few that may have been occasionally rigged... But never fear: HubNuggets Wannabe Hubs are 100% authentic and contain absolutely no peach pits, turkey toes. duplicate content, or other fillers.
The HubNuggets Team was intrigued by two shows in patrticular - Let's Make a Deal, for the pirate costumes we saw, and Deal or No Deal, for another version of piratey costumes on the tall model types with the briefcases. With all the Pirates of the Carribean films on TV for Holiday Week, we felt right at home. However, the team did not want to pirate either game show in entirey, so we combined bits from each to produce
Do We Have a Deal or Don’t We?, exclusively for
W-HUB TV, Channel 6 7/8 on TMC:The Madhatter Channel..
The Show:
Audience members arrive in costumes and a panel of 4 are selected to compete in each round of questions and stunts. They answer trivia questions in order to win a turn at selecting either a check for an unspecified amount of cash or a prize hidden behind a Door, a Curtain; in a Tardis or a Breadbox. If they take too long to decide, a buzzer sounds and a Harpo Marx lookalike persues the contestant with a seltzer bottle before the prize is revealed. This whole process occurs three times to select three winners by show's end. It's all great fun.
At any time during the proceedings, a panelist may happen to mention the Magic Word of the day, at which point, BT Evilpants is lowered into the picture with a lovely cash prize and a song for the panelist. Evilpants is proficient at a number of instruments and can sing as well. It's all very entertaining.
At the end of the show, a supermodel with a briefcase full of cash or fast food coupons appears and the largest total prize winner of the three daily winners has an opportunity to trade his or her cache for a large amont of cash - or fast food. It's spellbinding, especially with the backgorund music chosen by Zsuszy Bee.
Various antics are added to each day's show and answers to trivia questions can include singing part of an old Top 40 Hit, dancing, pantomime, phoning a politician, reciting a poem, and other fun. We think the show will be a hit.
Theme Song: Undecided
The Management and Crew
Producers Maddy Ruud and Jason Menayan are seasoned professionals in writing, marketing, and oversight at W-HUB TV. Maddy is the Community Manager of the HubPages metropolis and Jason is the Marketing Manager for HubPages.
Maddy and Jason helped choose our lovely curtain for the fliming set of the show. →
Shirley Anderson – Director of Do We have a Deal or Don’t We?
Shirley and her team come up with the awards and cash prizes for the weekly show and kidnap - er - secure new sponsors. For instance, have you heard those car commercials with James Spader from Boston Legal? – They sound real lawyer- y and give credence to the monetary investment needed for those upscale sets of wheels. Contestants really like to win those! Of course, if they choose the wrong door or breadbox, they might receive a Radio Flyer wagon – but if it’s an antique, they’ve still won!
B.T. Evilpants – Offbeat Announcer of the show. He's deep into Beat Memorabilia and recites a line from the great Beat Poets on each show. Also Helps Director Anderson to come up with additional tricks, stunts, and booby prizes for contestants that take too long to make a deal.
RedElf – Game Show Host.
Like any good elf, RedElf runs the show and distributes prizes and white elephants.
We’ve just found out that she has run a number of game shows for charity events in Canada and this is where she gained so much skill and finesse – especially when taking a turn with the seltzer bottle.
Zsuzsy Bee – Musical Director.
Ms. Bee chooses the musical numbers for the studio orchestra and the musical questions panelists must answer in order to select a door or tardis and uncover a wonderful prize or an infamous white elephant left over from a gift exchange last year. Ms. Bee also directs the orchestra and sings a mean rendition of Minnie the Moocher for the Music Category of questions.
Patty Inglish MS (Mistress of Sight and Sound)
I have a good time with the show, because I create the lighting effects for each installment and for certain stunts. Then I get to drop the Jackalope from the ceiling when the contestants say the Magic Word.
Ripplemaker – Network Angel.
Ripplemaker awards the best prizes on the show and encourages contestants throughout their experience.
She even makes "losing" contestants smile -- All our Wannabes are winners for making the Top 10 List!

In this Blue Moon Edition of Do We Have a Deal or Don't We?, panelist Angela Blair correctly deduced that her surname was spelled in a variation and not the original, proving once again how astute and talented are our HubNugget Wannabes! ["applause" sign ON].
(apologies for the mis-spell!)

Fabulous choices!
Patty, I never even knew I could flex my back like that. Flex-ability like that comes in handy when I'm hunting for the eggs that a couple of my silly chickens insist on hiding way up in the barn loft.
Congrats to all the hubnuggeteers for writing some great hubnugget wannabes once again this week.
I'd like to vote for 10 of my favorites now please.
Aaaaa kind of sad when you wore last hubnugget of 2009. Another year coming to an end. :-(
Well time for the New Year, New Hubbers, and New Hubnuggets! :-D
I have casted my vote! And good luck to all of you hubnuggeters! (is that a word? lmao)
Well it wasn't easy, but I voted. To answer your question, yes I am old enough to remember those game shows! I also remember Beat the Clock, and Minnie the Moocher is one of my favorite songs!
Love the choices and the hub! Happy New Year!!!!
I made my vote it wasn't easy this time. Nicely put together hub Patty. Happy New Year everyone!
Super fun Hub, Patty! Cab Calloway's "Minnie" is a classic, and we rarely missed "Beat The Clock", in re-run ;)
My grandparents sent me the board game for Christmas.
Thank you for a great hub with great ideas. Godspeed. creativeone59
I voted! Minnie the Moocher...now that brings back some memories. Cab Calloway really knew how to swing, and these wannabes really know how to write!
Those blue moon singers have entirely too much time on their hands!
I voted for the Avebury hub... it is magical and quite appropriate to the blue moon! Hubber, hubber... love, love!
Ooooh I love penguins Patty, and the vodeo as well. Great song. Now I must read those hubnuggets and return with a vote. Great hunugget hub by a wonderful hubhunny!
What a tough decision this time! Thanks for bringing all these great hubs to our attention!
All done. Great writing by all.
Great to see your hubs!!!Keep going!!!
Congratulations on a great selection of Hubnugget Wannabee's . Cast my vote. May the best Hub win!
Voted! Happy New Year Ms. Patty and to the Hubnugget's team. Great job and looking forward to more in 2010 :).
Thank you Patty. You always write such interesting articles. I'm still learning how to use hubpages properly. You are a great help. x
Thanks Patty for the wonderful blurb on the misspelling of my name - you aced it and I loved it! I sincerely appreciate the Hub Nugget Wannabe nomination and am honored to be included this week. Best, Sis
thanks for considering me in this poll of hubNugget's. Also this isn't my only hubpage, and it's not my best but if you check out my other one on modern warfare 2 then you might consider that one on your poll instead of my latest one.
Nostalgic stuff, but I wonder if those shows were really that bad? Apparently so. Not your Hub. It was great, but I don't care to go back there in my dreams. Don
Hi Patty, I got delayed in finishing my hubhopping. My internet conked out. I had to sneak to Daisy's house to use her computer. So here I am. Voted already. I enjoyed your hub and the hubnuggets! Great choices as always. Happy New Year to you! All the best. :)
Wow! Being included in the Hub Nugget Wannabe’s is heady stuff and I’m both honored and humbled. Having just recently gone back to writing (after umpteen years on the music business road), I’m now definitely encouraged to “go ahead on!” Thanks to all the Hubbers who voted for us Wannabe’s; the input of one’s peers is truly gratifying. At my age the consensus of opinion (seems to be) one’s reached the “sunset” years of life. Not so, dear hearts – take it from this old lady -- a new sun rises every day and with it new and exciting challenges and opportunities. Thanks, Hubbers, and my very best to all, Sis

Hello, hello, 2 years ago
