Ship's Log, Supplemental
Commander Sci-Pi, recording
.
Recent HubNuggets time-and-space missions have spanned a wide space-time range. The latest is recorded in Lt. Commander Simone Hakaru-sulu's new TV pilot proposal. I include it here in case the ship does not make it out of this ancient era. We may need to resort to the slingshot-around-the-sun method of time travel.
Welcome to W-HUBN News Tonight!
Ship’s Log Supplemental
- from Station W-HUBN in Niagara Falls ON-NY
News Reporters Ripplemaker and Mirror Crack’d, recording.
W-HUBN – Yeah, were Hubbin’!
.
HubHQ issued the HubNuggets Team a special assignment this week. President of W-HUBN Marketing, Jason Menayan, sent crack reporters Ripplemaker and Mirror Crack’d to cover the 18th century story of the hour – the dustup after the French and Indian War in North America (1754 to 1763). Mirror Crack’d provided transportation – he coughed us up like his cousin Stargate® at Cheyenne Mountain.
Pulitzer Prize winning International News Anchor Maddie Ruud was holding a primetime slot open for us on W-HUBN News Tonight with Simone Hakaru-sulu and accepting the live feed as Engineer and camera-bug P8 Blue transmitted it. Let’s have a look…
Mirror, Mirror; Star Gateway to the Ages...
On the Scene
Ripplemaker: We’re here live at the aftermath of the French and Indian War at the All American Saloon on Lake Erie! Niagara Rocks! -- Exciting, isn’t it, Mirror?
Mirror Crack’d: Stop yelling at me – all I did was cough!
R: Yes, yes, that’s fine. Now, let’s enjoy ourselves while we’re here. We could be promoted if we do a good job.
M: Me, promoted --To what; a restroom fixture?
R: Do you still have that stomachache?
M: URRRPPPPP…
[HubNugget Hank ejects from the Mirror and propels across the bar, carried by a frosty mug of his favorite ale sliding to a customer at the end]
[CRASH! TINKLE!...gallop, gallop, gallop..]
Hank.........................................?
Ripplemaker: Folks in TVLand, that was platypus and Special Correspondent HubNugget Hank. He just smashed through the saloon window and was carried off by Chief Poker Face of the Iroquois Confederation.
That platypus will make a mighty fine dream catcher and bring so much JOY to young native children….P8 Blue, you have GOT to hold that video camera still...Yes, yes, I know the Native Americans want to take it from you and start their own production company… just keep your pincers on it…
P8 Blue: Bibbity bobbity boo!
R: The bar is crowded tonight, friends! Americans are celebrating the coming Revolution, while the Mohawk and Oneida have the French and British Canadians tied up outside for trying to sell them the Brooklyn Bridge instead of coming cross with the land they promised before the war.
We also have a group of 18 distinguished new residents of this settlement - HubNugget Wannabes - with us tonight, so let’s visit with the initial delegation of 6 before we go outside and interview the Native Americans and their captives. But first, here's a little background data and a HubPages Map to show you where we are!
1722: The Prelude
Ripplemaker:A look at this map shows you where our broadcast originates - we are in Niagara Falls in Ontario and New York. The Six Nations Reserve is to the west. Word on the streets is that the First Nations may try a takeover of Niagara. Stay tuned!
Six Nations Reserve, Ontario
Six Nations, Ontario - Makeup! Hair! Camera! Action!

Revolting!
Ripplemaker: Mirror Crack’d! See what you can get out of Jim Bowie there at the bar.
[Mirror rolls up to a dark figure draped in a black cloak, wearing a Mohawk war cap and carrying a large knife.]
M: Ahoy, Sailor!
[CRACK!]
M: Hey, that hurt -- What’s up with the fisticuffs?
Dr. Pocahontas of Pi: Never sneak up on an Indian. Say, you need a new face.
M: That’s YOUR face, miss. Now, tell me. As an American, what are your views on the upcoming Revolution?
Dr. Poca of Pi: Indeed. Since I’ve been hiding out in this century, I have made some useful contacts, especially with Francis Marion. You’ll know him in future as Swamp Fox. That is all I can divulge at this juncture. Now, please leave me – I don’t like … mirrors…
And I never drink…wine [waves off the bartender]

Awesome - read, voted, rated, and (shudder) "'Booked" - yes folks, you saw it here first...FaceBook has now achieved the immortal status of being both noun and verb (shudder)FaceBook n. social networking site; v. "to Book" past tense "'Booked": to post a link on the site (requires use of capital "B") ;)
But I digress! Great hub, O, mysterious Doctor! Are you by chance also related to Big Chief Many-Giggles of the Stand-up Tribe? ...or perhaps his cousin, Mighty-Yuks? I hear his folk are booked steady in the Casinos. Those Canadians can be pretty revolting too, eh!
Excellent reporting, eh? I didn't know that you could speak Canadian, Commander Ripplemaker. That little talent will come in very useful.
Ya know, if you live long enough, you see and hear everything, like Mirror Crack'd working with us, rather than ag'in us.
Love the Falls, the casinos in the Falls and Poker Face. It's all here in one well-written package, what a terrific hub!
Good luck to our Wannabes! Vote everybody!
It is so hard to choose. You have so much good material there and it is fair to choose just one.
Ya, sure- I read them all, I did, eh.
Loved the hub story, Ripplemaker. I, too, learned a great deal from the topics offered here. Useful things that I am going to put into practice.
I did my homework casting my vote and now I'm off to play in hubland. Have a great w/e everyone. :)

Wow...Some great hubs. Voted, but it was hard this week, as usual!!
Is there an accolade or similar that can be added to hubnugget winner's profiles or hubs?
Thank you for the Nomination ~ it certainly helped to put a smile back on my dial. :-)
I finally made it here and voted! Fantabulous hub!!
Vacation you say? I wish! The platypus ate my passport and I was stuck at customs! Do you have any idea what they do to suspicious jackalopes? *shudders*
Failed to vote, but loved your hub, Patty, as usual. I've been stuck with a semi-zombie netbook. Hmnnn...the HubPages virus multiplies fast in my account...heheh!
