New Life at Summer's End
As a wise mine of my acquaintance has said many times, anything alive takes in and gives output. I like to think of it as standing in a river with the current constantly flowing around you - new water constantly admitting itself. The Japanese have a string-of-beads notion - bead after bead of the events and the people in life come past and circle, newness always reiterating. In Russian literature, a man lies on his couch in the middle of his house and feels that surely the whole town will file past him through one door and out the next, if he or they want or need anything from one another.

I consider myself a new Hubber since I really got started on this site and all its possibilities only today. Actually I became a 'member' of HubPages 2 months ago when I was frantically joining everything in sight, a novice computer user, indeed. Does it show?
Well, I certainly hope voters note that some of us take a while to be comfortable enough to publish a hub.
But once accomplished, what a feeling of fulfillment!

Well, I hit the hay last night in complete darkness. Because of a terrific summer storm here the power was out. I wake up this morning and see ripplemaker's comment on my hub.
