High Stakes HubNuggets and Hank
68Ship's Log Supplemental, Science Officer PI 3.1417hub1417hub, recording.
Successfully completing another HubNuggets Mission - this one in the Odds-OZ Sector, Australia Prime - Captain Sh1rl3y And3rs0n and the HubNuggets Team planned an overdue length of R & R before journeying on to the next Sector for a new round of HubNuggets Search and Enjoy.
This respite and delay were all just as well, since we were stuck in OZ, awaiting the completion of an Australian Ale sampling study by Commander B.T. Evilpants and Ensign HubNuggets Hank. They were determined to determine the various health benefits to be had from each and every variety of Australian Ale. Having completed my lobster-tail dissection data gathering with positive results, I simply watched them from the viewscreen on the ship, ever ready to beam down and assist in whatever first aid might be needed by the two dedicated researchers.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Team visited the gaming parlor and other alcoves on the promenade of the space station at Australia Prime. I wondered about forming another study project in their absence. This one would examine the odds of becoming a HubNugget Winner from out of the 18 Hubbers we would select as HubNugget Wannabes in the Odds-OZ Sector. However, I was fatigued and lobster tails were clouding my vision. They were dancing some sort of round and flinging sugar at themselves -- I was wondering the odds of ever leaving OZ...
Each week we promote new Hubbers with tenure of 3 months are less, encourage them and add to the fun and exciting of growing the HubPages Community.
Three HubPages Topics rotate through the weeks and we nominates Hubs of 6 in each of the three, written in the past 7 days. We hope that you enjoy reading the 18 new Hubs and choose your favorite by selecting it by vote in the Poll at the End of Each Category.
REVIEW: As you have learned through reading and re-reading Ms. Zsuzsy Bee's Hub-ctionary, a HubNugget Wannabe is the Hubber that wrote one of the 18 Nominated Hubs. The Top 9 HubNugget Winners (3 in each category), chosen by you, the Reading Public, will be the HubNuggets of the week (a written nugget being something delicious to read).
Who, Where, When, Why, and What are the Odds?
CRITERIA: How do writers become chosen? Read Sh1rley And3rs0n's Scientific Criteria and FAQ.
The odds of a Wannabe (nominated new writer) becoming a HubNugget among the 9 Winners out of 18 nominations is 9:18 or 1:2. Variables affecting HubNugget Victory during the next week of voting are very R,C,P,and E:
- Resourcefulness: Increase the number of votes you can gain for yourself by contacting friends, family, colleagues, FaceBook and MySpace friends, YahooGroups and GoogleGroups, and contacts on other social networking sites, such as StumbleUpon, Digg, Mixx, Tagfoot, and others; post your nomination status in your Blog - or start a Blog and include it;
- Creativity: write another Hub about how much fun you're having as a Hubber, including your status as a HubNugget Wannabe;
- Participation: Join the 30 Hubs in 30 Days and weekly HubMob challenges and make yourself better known in that manner. Enter the Helpful Health Hubs Contest this month. Comment on topics in the forums, but avoid posting about your HubNugget Wannabe race or including links to your Hubs in the forums.
- Encouragement: Invite your friends to join HubPages and get a shot at becoming a future HubNugget. Have fun creating networks of friends on HubPages.
RCPE – That sounds like recipe, of which you'll find many on HubPages and in B.T. Evilpants's bunker and his UFP Hubbertise galley.
You might enjoy joining Hubpages if you are not already a member. Its free. If you would like to join, it takes just a minute, so click here and join the fun and fortune.
The HubNuggets Team
Two HubPages Mission Control Managers guide us in the HubNuggets project. They are outstanding writers, which is how they were awarded their employment. -- Maddie Ruud, community manager, and Jason Menayan, marketing manager. They monitor, analyze, and apply various data to ensure the smooth operations of the HubPages universe and create new Writing Challenges, Contests, and other community activities. No odds are necessary to figure that they've boosted the success and enjoyment of HubPages - a great place to write!
You have baked me too brown, I must sugar my hair!
Sh1rl3y And3rs0n – Odds are that you're getting to know Captain Shirley on HubPages as leader of the HubNuggets Team missions. You've likely seen her past service on HubMob – where, with fine-tuned accuracy, she compiled the weekly submissions, created polls for choosing favorites, and reported results to the eager HP Forums.
Captain And3rs0n also has had some musical success with a series of albums of old standards with a small percentage of spoken lyrics. The Captain is a renown writer and has just completed a tell-all novel entitled, "Get a HubNugget."
The Captain's new CD single is Will Be (flip side, Hey Ruud!; third side, Captain Sh1rley's HubNuggets Wannabe Band).
B.T. Evilpants – The odds-on favorite or simply Odds Bodkins? Inventor of the 3-D Nuclear Abacus and Gravy Ladle, Mr. Evilpants runs a shadow government built on the square roots of negative numbers and other elusive butterflies.
Mr. 'pants has taken over culinary control of the universe. Please visit Mobius Strip Delicatessen and Grenade Development, just next door to the International Space Station.
Zsuzsy Bee – Zsuzsy Bee is mathematical and word-ical at once, able to recite the entire Hub-ctionary, while counting the words simulataneously with numbering flocks of ducks and chickens and the number of corn kernels they eat. This feat of genius might otherwise require the use of a Three Way Oh-Nova, but she has invented her own brand of tricorder to document such data in milliseconds.
This new tricorder iteration may prove effective in the ale data project and I must consult Mr. Evilpants and Ensign HubNuggets Hank.
Addendum: The odds of enjoying Ms. Bee's Hubs is 1:1, or a sure thing.
RedElf – Cats are oddly statistical 100%, having 9 lives. Her true life expectancy is probably 9x8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1 = 362,800 years. What are the odds of that? I must borrow Ms. Bee's tricorder to find out.
At any rate, the experiences she brings to her writing from a Renaissance of diverse accomplishments can fill that number of reading-years.
PI 3.1417hub1417hub - Hi! - It's me. I love Π and the circle from which it derives, but really enjoy the circular pie of many flavors even better, 100:1.
Did you know that if you add points around the perimeter of a circle, it becomes even more round? Is that Super-round, do you suppose, or just odd -- I do enjoy the Odd Thomas books by Dean Koontz… Odd Bunson was a photographer in The Cat Who mystery series 400 miles north of everywhere ...
<crackle... snap, crackle, pop!!>
"Mission Control to Odds-Oz Mission, you are overloading the supplemental log bandwidth. Please retreat to designated parameters and eliminate further oddities. Choose Wannabes and continue to next Sector.That is all!"
