Final Frontiers Open - Buzz Aldrin Announced PayPal Galactic for Space

Space Payments Now Ready

We have a couple of Final Frontiers to explore from Earth in the 2010s and beyond.

One is surely Outer Space and this excites Star TrekĀ®'s original Captain Kirk, William Shatner, immensely. Tom Hanks is another actor of space roles (James Lovell in Apollo 13) that is happy about our ongoing missions to the stars. He used to get his family up late at night to go outside to look at the International Space Station in the sky.

Space exploration means hope for the future. That hope is probably the major thing that drove Gene Roddenberry's efforts in the Star TrekĀ® franchise, the thing more important than monetary gain or fame. William Shatner is driven by a need to know that there is a future. Thanks to him and his crew, science has followed the space opera into reality.

The other Final Frontiers we have today are Antarctica, which we use for isolation training in preparation for space missions; and, the undersea world penetrated most deeply to date by filmmaker James Cameron, one of the principals behind Planetary Resources, Inc. (PL).

PL is not only ready to mine asteroids and to shatter other asteroids that might impact Earth with power to destroy, but also is placing telescopes into space for use by the general population - they used crowd funding to raise $1 Million and reached $2 Million instead.

Another PL backer, Google, has Lunar Landers ready to go to the moon.

Buzz Aldrin advises us to use it all and get to Mars ASAP. After all, we now have PayPal Galactic.

PayPal Galactic

PayPal partners with Buzz Aldrin and the SETI Institute and Space Tourism Society to maintain PayPal Galactic for space-related monetary transactions. The new PayPal product is not related to Richard Branson's spaceships or Spaceport America in New Mexico.

In fact, PayPal President David Marcus (coincidentally also the name of the fictional Captain Kirk's son) states that space hotels will be requiring patrons to pay for rooms, meals, and entertainment in outer space as early as 2018, five years from the premier of PayPal Galactic (BusinessWire.com News for June 27, 2013).

However, the Russians will beat us to the punch. That country's Orbital Technologies company plans to open a space hotel in 2016, according to Fox News on June 27,2013. It's a new space race.

All the while, the thought of American David Marcus is to create a cash-free, all-electronic currency through PayPal that might also be used on Earth.

What are we going to call the unit of currency?

Shatner and the Gorn do a Commercial

Advertising For PayPal Galactic

PayPal has already stated that Captain Kirk would use PayPal Galactic if it were available to him in his fictional universe. This statement opens the way for approaching either William Shatner or Chris Pine to portray the Captain in commericals.

Undoubtedly, it would be a delight to see Buzz Aldrin in a commerical with either Captain Kirk - or a stand off between Jim Lovell and Tom Hanks in a treatment about ID Theft and PayPal Galactic. Millions of people would tune in, looking for these commercials.

Spock, of course, does not have any time to spend money.

In the meantime, there was already a problem with the new website at https://www.paypal-galactic.com on July 1, 2013. Messages about an Attack Page, malware, phishing, and similar problems arose from attempting to access the site. It needs to be fixed before that Russian hotel opens in 2016.

Planetary Resources, Inc. - The Company For the People

The new leader in the Space Exploration Industry in 2013 is really Planetary Resources, Inc. SpaceX is awesome and still building rockets, ships, and astronaut/cosmonaut capsules, but PL is gathering in the public and offering it the vastness of all space.

Backed by Google and James Cameron, the aerospace company Planetary Resources does more to advance NASA's and the NASA Commerical Crew's aerospace business endeavors and Mission to Mars in collaboration with the American People and public education than any other single company in the Commercial Crew.

The PL idea for crowd funding telescopes for the public and for teachers and students to use was good - so good, that SETI is now using crowd funding for future projects. This funding works faster than government funding or private grant proposals and raises more money.

On June 30, 2013 Sir Richard Branson himself pledged $100,000 for ARKYD spacecraft and additional timesharing telescopes through Planetary Resources. How's that for the Commerical Crew working together? Virgin Galactic is firmly entrenched at Spaceport America in New Mexico, ready to speed space tourists into low Earth orbit very soon.

Through PL telescopes, we may be able to see some of the Virgin Galactic flights. Buzz Aldrin is determined not only to see some of those flights, but also to see many of us on further flights out of Earth orbit and on to Mars within his lifetime.

People will need money, even in space. PayPal Galactic may have the answer.
