HubNuggets, the final frontier...
These are the voyages of the USS Hubbertise; its continuing mission, to seek out new writers and new worlds, to avoid SPAM, and to boldly go where successful writers choose to lead!
.
.
Ship's Log, Supplemental;
Commander Sci-Pi, recording.
Weekly HubNuggets Missions have taken the HN Team to many corners of the Universe; yet, there are still writing depths to explore. New HP writers strive to illuminate these realms and we present a selection of HubNuggets Wannabe Hubs to you again this week as two team members retire. Here's the story -
Good Night Sweet Princ(ess), Good Night Moon
September is the month of the Harvest Moon and we offer you a solid harvest of tasty HubNuggets this week. Since North American First Nations and farmers everywhere enjoy a feast of celebration at the harvest, we're having a party! --
It's a Farewell Fete for Captain (retired) Shirley Anderson and Commander (retired) B.T. Evilpants, as they pilot escape pods and a burro into the far realms of full-time writing - er – marriage to Beatle John Lennon - er - both.
We have plenty of food and some of the crew have provided vintage Canadian whiskey brought back from our journey to the Great Lakes in the early 1700s; and, B.T. left a storeroom of fine ales for HubNugget Hank to use in the continued scientific quest for the ultimate ale. Hank is lead researcher now, but since he’s still back in the 1700s, we will commandeer the goods for the sake of the party.
Commander Zsuzsy Bee has baked a bonus batch of butter tarts for the celebration, so be sure to try one, and take home the recipe.
Admiral Jason Menayan has graciously consented to perform his wild west magic act as The Great Presto! We are in luck too, because Admiral Maddie Ruud - just back from her International Rodeo Grand Champion win - has agreed to be his clever and beautiful Cowgirl assistant, Buckaroo Maddie. Her sophisticated leather boots are a model of style and spoken of across the galaxies. At the conclusion of the act, our Admirals and Swashbluckling Simone will enact selected scenes from Two Gentleman From Verona and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl.
Mirror Crack’d: What shall I be doing?
Sci-Pi: Attempt to trace Shirley and B.T. and connect us in a conference call on the forward screen. See if we can get a few words from them during the party.
Mirror Crack’d: Aye Aye, Commodore!
Sci-Pi: I’m not a commodore. What IS a commodore? It is one of those birds? No, no, that’s a cormorant… We have a Beatles Tribute Group performing for the party and a few guest musicians may sit in. They’re warming up now -- Wait a minute!
[Honk! Honk! Hummmmmmmmmm!]
Sci-Pi: P8 Blue! Stop playing Amazing Grace on bagpipes, Shirley and B.T. are not dead!
P8Blue: Hoot mon! Pictures, then!--
[Flash, flash, flash, flash, flash, shoooooooom!]
Sci-Pi: A camera bug with a nuclear camera…I wonder how THOSE shots are going to turn out? Any road, 6 HubNugget Wannabes have shown up at the door with their grand Hubs as offerings to the Farewell Fete. Let’s see what they’ve brought….Ahh, delicious! Help yourself to some food and drink as the band plays during your visit to the first Wannabes.(Don't miss any of them, because some include daft funny commercials.)

Ladies and Gentlemen!
This is Special Correspondent ripplemaker, broadcasting the Hubnugget Team Farewell Fete on W-HUBN TV, live from Mann’s Chinese Theater. Rumor has it that Shirley Anderson and B.T. Evilpants may have their handprints, antlerprints, and autographs placed in the cement in front of the theater here in Hollywood. They have been dedicated members of the HubNuggets Team and their writing on HubPages is duly appreciated as well. If we can contact them during this party, we may see them imprint the sidewalk in front of Mann’s. Stay tuned!
Sci-Pi: Mirror, Mirror dressed in plaid, where are our friends? – Why are you dressed that way, might I add?
Mirror Crack’d: Capt. Anderson is on an around-the-world tour in a submarine with John Lennon. There is no trace of Evilpantaloons yet. And if that buggy P8Blue can wear a kilt to the party, why not me?
Commander RedElf: Sci-Pi, I’m picking up something on the subspace frequencies. The video appears snowy and the audio static-ky. I shall refine the tuning with my dainty yet powerful paws...

Commander Zsuzsy Bee: To quote Ralph Kramden, “Droll Alice, verrrrrry droll.”

Special Correspondent ripplemaker: While we’re looking for our friends, another 6 HubNugget Wannabe guests have arrived with their great Hubs. Let’s listen to the band play as we look them over.
