An Interesting Hubber Question
Professional and Educational Conferences
Searching the Internet for information about degree programs in Criminology and Forensic Scienceis difficult, because first search results yield only a list of blogs that contain partial information that is not helpful. A different type of search is necessary.
If one is residing in India, then a yearly conference regarding criminologyis a good place to start looking for professionals and educators in the field. This is the All India Criminology Conference combined with the International Criminology Conference of the Indian Society of Criminology. This large conference is held annually. The 2009 edition was held at the University of Kashmir in October 2009 with the theme of Criminal Justice System: Challenges and Future Agenda.
The University of Kashmir, then, is a good place to start looking for help in crafting an educational background, internship, and career in Criminology in India.
The 2009 conference looked at the following topics under its theme:

- Research and Development: Criminological Sectors

While the University of Kashmir offers an array of degrees and training opportunities to potential students, Criminology and Forensics so not appear as degree programs in their listings. Coursework for Criminology is found under Social Sicences, but no courses are found for Forensics at all.

Fantastic information, Patty. Odd that some degrees are more difficult to get information on than others. One would think it would be so much easier to get more information on criminology and forensic sciences no matter where one lived. Great topic to answer.
These two subject must be so interesting and fascinating. Thank you for yur informative hub.
Patty - Your suggestion to network by searching for professional conferences about this (or any)subject was a gem. Spot on, as my British hubbuddys might say.
Thank you for providing detailed information on a subject that is not really well-known or in the public eye, even in India. These days it is nearly all about IT and MBAs and I am glad young people like Arhana are interested in subjects outside these two.
Interesting hub.
As a volunteer with prisoners from time t time in their reentry programs, this topic comes up among staff there sometimes. Interesting Hub!
The suggestion to approach top law firms is excellent. Not only are those law firms potential sources of information about criminology and forensic programs, they may be a first step for the student in learning how to build professional networks. Making a "cold call" like that builds confidence. I have never known a professional to turn down a student's request for information.
I love the architecture of the Lotus Temple. Interesting information on criminology and science.
QUT does a Criminology course in Singapore but not India so far
