Blue Ridge
Located in Northern Georgia not far from Tennessee, Blue Ridge, Georgia is about a 90-minute drive time north of Atlanta, in Fannin County -- the Gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not only fishing, but outdoor vacationing, hiking, birding (bird watching), hunting, boating, and other recreational activities are abundant in this area.
Driving from Atlanta on I-75 North, proceed to I-575. You will find this name changes to Georgia Mountain Parkwayat the Cherokee County & Pickens County line. Continue driving on the same road for 55 miles until you reach to Blue Ridge.
The Blue Ridge Mountains run southwest from central Pennsylvania to Springer Mountain in Fannin County, where other mountain ranges take over and move westward. The Blue Ridge Range is younger than the Great Smoky Mountains nearby. Over 100,000 acres of land is governed by the US Forest Service in Fannin County and this indicates good hunting and fishing possibilities as well.
Lake Blue Ridge is a good place to start fishing, but there are others as well.
