Summer, Labor Day, and Harvest Season
Labor Day can be an excellent day to visit a local farm, because many of them plan family-friendly activites for the Labor Day Weekend. The good food items you purchase go beyond that initial fun.
Michigan is the home of goopd tasting crops of blackberries (my favorite), blueberries, red and black raspberries, and peaches. You can find all of these fruit crops at U-Pick farm markets.
Apple picking starts at the end of August and increases on Labor Day, while corn mazes are already built for the Harvest Season holidays.

This market provides a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables for customers' pleasure durinkg 12 hours each Saturday, 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is a true Market Day of old and this schedule harkens back to the old farmers' market' of the late 1800s and early 1900s, when farmers brought crops to market in the city on Saturdays and purchased their own needs in the general store.
