A Harvest of HubNuggets - Tribute to Steve Jobs

Fall Harvest
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. - Luke 10:1-3 English Standard Version
The line above is a scriptural quote that fits with our HubNuggets Awards topics his week of Religion and Philosophy, Health, and Home and Family. HubPages has so many new writers, it is difficult to read all their work, even though large numbers of people are reading in the community. So, each week the HubNuggets Krewe brings you Nominations of the best work of new writers for your reading enjoyment. We hope you take a look and then vote for your favorite Hub in each of the three topics. The 9 winners, the top three vote-getters in each topic, will be crowned HubNuggets. It's like Dancing With the Stars, but with more winners! They'll receive additional Hub Traffic and showcasing in the weekly HubPages Newsletter of some 200,000 recipients.
Our first topic this week is Religion and Philosphy and we offer you Hubs about faiths and religions, hypocrisy, philosophy, and even the brain's relation to the soul. They're all interesting and generating some exicitng discussions already!
Sincerity is the way of Heaven. The attainment of sincerity is the way of men. - Confucius
Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark. - George Iles, shared by HubNuggets Krewe Member KoffeeKlatch Gals
Harvested Away
Let us dedicate this Hub to the memory of Steve Jobs (1955 - 2011), the co-founder of Apple Inc., but better remembered as a devoted family man and a man consistently living his convictions and following Buddhism. He told college graduates to think for themselves, reject dogma and follow their hearts and intuition - the small voice inside that some know as the voice of God and others know as their anchor.
Mr. Jobs also provided us with digital innovations that have made the Internet a way of life unimaginable before these inventions appeared and much easier to use for hundreds of New Hubbers that we showcase here each week. His work has made our work many times easier - and fun!

Assalamu Alaykum. Today, I would like to talk about the hatred I noticed on some facebook pages between Muslims, may Allah protect us. I think Muslims are more mature than accepting to be guided by people who want Fitnah, by anger, and by Shaytan.... - Is information really stored in the brain?

This writer confesses that there are religious Christian hypocrites in the church. He states what we don’t need from hypocrites and then list some reasons why there are hypocrites among us. He then wraps up this discussion with what actions we do and - My Philosophy
I haven't always considered myself Buddhist. I doubt anyone is born with spiritual beliefs. After exiting the womb, we're not exactly stamped on the forehead with the name of our destined religion. I come from a Christian family. We used to get up... - Pastafarianism and Why You Should Take It Seriously
This is a bit of an old subject, but I think it is very important and I think it should be brought to peoples attention. As some of you may know, schools in states like Kansas and Texas teach "Intelligent Design" along with the theory of...

Health
Steve Jobs suffered pancreatic cancer that even the healthiest of lifestyles have failed to beat for more than a few years. Cancer is a scourge that we want to end within our lifetimes so that we will lose no more loved ones in such a painful way.
Several of our HubNuggets Krewe Members also have a bit to say about cancer as well, and you can see their stories at: Ladyjane1, RedElf, Maddie Ruud, and Simone Smith.

Harvest Home
We are nearing the holidays of Thanksgiving in Canada in October and USA in November. Some ethnic peoples celebrate thanks nearly every month of the year, but these two large North American nations set aside dedicated Holidays in which the abundance of the autumn harvest plays a pivotal role in family celebrations. The Harvest Home is an image stamped upon our cultures by the earliest settlers that celebrated giving thanks for a New World on this continent - the Spanish, the French, and the English. As with our other topics, the HubNuggets Krewe have offered their own inspirations on the Home in memorable ways here: Jason Menayan, Ripplemaker, and Enelle Lamb.
Jason Menayan, Director of Marketing; Maddie Ruud, Community Manager; and Simone Smith, Marketing & Community Manager; are HubPages staff members that ease the workings of the HubNuggets Program (see link further below). In fact, they do a top notch job all around HubPages! But all the rest of the HubNuggets Krewe are unpaid volunteers and glad to help.
To all of us, HubPages is a home for writers and friends.
Please enjoy the following Hubs nominated for your reading enjoyment and voting decision in the topic of Home.
May your harvests be plentiful and enjoyed with family and friends!

I wasn't too familiar with the private life of Steve Jobs before he became ill. It's an interesting quote of his about how sharing his life publicly would let his children know him better.
What a wonderful Hub. Great tribute to Steve Jobs, and great showcase of up-and-coming Hubbers.
HubNuggets Krewe,
I very much appreciate the nomination - I am encouraged to think it may provide me a larger audience, but I am delighted my efforts were counted worthy of nomination. I will not vote for myself (I'm not even sure if that would register) but I will read the other hubs in my category and vote honestly.
. . . though, now I'm afraid some might regard that so ludicrous a course they will not want to vote for such an ass. Ok, I'm voting for myself - no, I just can't do that, I'll vote for whichever hub I think is best . . . maybe I should just abstain. Oh curse this torturous nomination - when will I be free from it's grip, when will it stop darkening my days and haunting my nights?!
. . . seriously, when are the winners announced?
micky Sr. most people do vote for themselves and are expected to vote for themselves. You'll get an email saying not to forget to vote for yourself.
Patty great hub as usual and a nice touch about Steve Jobs. voted up and awesome. Congrats to everyone and goodluck!!!
Well now I have another favorite HubNuggets hub! This was a splendid read, Patty. I loved the seamless way you integrated your tribute to Jobs, and all the categories, into your Harvest theme. Wonderful piece of writing!
Congratulations to all the nominees! get out there and promote your work!
What happened to the voting ballot/buttons in the 'Religion and Philosophy' category? The nominees are all listed, but there's no voting option . . ?
(at least that's how the page loads for me)
. . . ohh, of course. A friend told me she liked my hub but couldn't find where or how to vote - I came here to collect the link and provide her directions to vote, saw the voting buttons were gone and thought 'no wonder she can't find where and how to vote' . . . perhaps she did vote and is now trying to stuff the ballot box for me . . ? . . I will go and reprimand her. Thanks.
I've finished reading and voting.
Good hubs! I so enjoy reading the hubnugget nominees! All read and voted for! Thanks for an interesting intro to them as well!
no and no need for thankssssssss
What a beautiful tribute:)...thank you...
Great tribute and I hope that someday, somewhere there will be another Steve Jobs. I learned a lot from your hub!
Patty, great tribute. Read, enjoyed, voted and shared.
Congrts to all the nominee
I’m just a little slow Patty. It took me awhile to figure out this was a hub. :( Once I figured that out I started reading and we have some great new talent. You did a great job organizing and writing this. Thank you. Vote up and useful ~ eddie
Really, really great Hub! One of the best I've read. Congrats to all the nominees!
What a harvest of Hubnuggets; and sending a prayer for the soul of Steve Jobs. On my way to read and vote. Thumbs up Patty! Congrats to all the nominees!
Wow, I'm over the moon that my hub was nominated! I didn't expect it at all! Thank you so much - I really appreciate it. Winning would just be the icing on the cake :D
This was a gem of a tribute to Steve Jobs. It will be very interesting indeed to see what kind of products Apple produces from now on and also to see where Steve Jobs's children will be in the next few years.
Thank you Patty for this great hub and the tribute to Steve Jobs. A remarkable man.
My second nomination in 2 weeks, i'm ecstatic. I wish all my fellow nominees the best of luck, and I will do my best to go through all your hubs. Win or lose, we made it this far and that's an acheivement in itself.
take care and God bless.
I only just NOW found that my hub was on the list! Thank you so much!! I'm SO excited and flattered. This means somebody has actually been reading my stuff. ;) Hooray! Congrats to everyone else as well, there are some AWESOME hubs on the list!
Lovely tribute to Steve Jobs. I am devastated for his family, he was a completely ingenious brilliant man and will be missed greatly. I thought the Apple tribute on the homepage was an honored gesture as well. I was impressed with it. All I ever knew about Steve Jobs up until the last few days was his status at Apple. There are so many great hubs and research articles that have surfaced the last couple of days since his passing. He really seems like a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. God bless and keep his family both at home and his work family as they try and deal with this loss.
Steve Jobs-an inspiration for all, worth emulating!
Thanks for your continued dedication and hard work to make this a stellar hub. Also appreciate the nod to Steve Jobs. Thanks for that.
Namaste.
well done "congrats"

The home nominees have pulled me in...I'm readin' I'm readin'!!!

Hands down the homemade ecodetergent article~! What an idea, what an odor! Well, I hope not, this sounds like a great idea, saving the environment and money, love it.
Ben

Wonderful tribute to a genius!
Great big abundant heaping over thanks to ladyjane1 for nominating my hub, to the HubNuggets Krewe for approving it for the general vote, to Patty Inglish MS for setting-up this hub and tending to the voting, etc, and to all who took the time to visit my public blabberings and vote for me.
One of my many daughters found HubPages and suggested I give it a try - dad was so pleased to be able to go back to his little girl and tell her I did good, thank you. I genuinely appreciate this and am encouraged to do my best and win more HubNuggets Awards every week . . . well, I'll do my best anyway. Thank you so much, and my sincere congratulations and encouragement to all the other winners and nominees.
Nice tribute to Steve Jobs. He was one of my heroes, even though he was far from perfect. His early death made me reconsider some things in my own life, such as taking better care of my health and spending more time with family.
Patty, wonderful tribute to Steve Jobs, quite an amazing guy who accomplished so much and has definitely left behind a lasting legacy.
To the nominees congratulations and best of luck.
A fitting words for a great man. Let store it at iCloud
